sprosnitzSusan M. Prosnitz, Esq.
Executive Director

Susan Prosnitz is the Executive Director of the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service at Suffolk University Law School. Previously, Ms. Prosnitz held several senior positions in state and local government including General Counsel to the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, Chief Counsel to the Massachusetts Highway Department, General Counsel and Executive Director for the Special Advisory Task Force on Massport and Chief of Litigation for the Boston Police Department. During her government tenure, Ms. Prosnitz also served as co-chair of the Governor's Task Force on Hate Crimes and as co-chair of the Statewide Racial and Gender Profiling Committee. Prior to her public service career, Ms. Prosnitz worked as an associate with the law firm Hinckley, Allen, and Snyder and as a law clerk for the Superior Court of Massachusetts.

Ms. Prosnitz serves on several nonprofit Boards including the Anti-Defamation League, Citizen Schools Council of Champions, and as President of the Duke University Law Alumni Association. She is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, American Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association, National Association of Legal Professionals and the Boston Club.

She is a graduate of Amherst College and Duke University School of Law.


mfriedmanMia B. Friedman, Esq.
Director of Public Interest and Pro Bono Programs

Mia Friedman is the Director of Public Interest and Pro Bono Programs at the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service at Suffolk University Law School. Prior to joining the staff at the Rappaport Center, Ms. Friedman practiced municipal litigation for several years at a medium-sized Boston law firm, Pierce, Davis & Perritano, LLP. Her practice focused on the defense of individuals, government subdivisions, and agencies in the state and federal courts. Ms. Friedman also worked at another Boston firm, Deutsch Williams Brooks DeRensis & Holland, P.C., advising municipalities and practicing general civil litigation.

In addition, Ms. Friedman pursued pro bono work at the Volunteer Lawyers Project, representing indigent plaintiffs in employment discrimination lawsuits. She also completed an internship at Greater Boston Legal Services and was a student attorney in Suffolk University Law School's Housing and Consumer Protection Clinic.

Ms. Friedman is a member of the Boston Bar Association. She is a graduate of Tufts University and Suffolk University Law School.

 

lchapmanLaura M. Chapman
Communications Coordinator

Laura Chapman is the Communications Coordinator for the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service at Suffolk University Law School. Previously, Ms. Chapman worked as a marketing intern at the Rappaport Center. Before coming to Suffolk Law, Ms. Chapman served as the Assistant Manager and the Sales Supervisor in charge of database development, website design, communications and marketing at the Christian Science Reading Room in Boston.

She is a graduate of the Frank Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University and was a Griffin Honors Fellow.

 

chaighChristine E. Haigh
Administrative Assistant

Christine Haigh is the Administrative Assistant for the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service at Suffolk University Law School. Ms. Haigh previously worked for Boston University, the ALS Association and the South Carolina Maritime Foundation.  She served in key fundraising, event planning and communication roles for each organization. 

Christine is a graduate of the College of Charleston.
