In conjunction with her law school studies, Carolyn works as a Special Education Coordinator for the Newburyport Public Schools. She has worked in both private and public schools, as well as for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education where she monitored compliance with state and federal regulations in private special education schools. Carolyn has always maintained a passion for learning and she was selected as a fellow for the Education Policy Fellowship Program at Northeastern in 2005. This program provided her an opportunity to explore policy issues in education at the local, state and federal levels. This summer Carolyn will be interning at the Joint Committee on Education at the State House. She will be working with Rep. Marty Walz who is the Chair of this committee. Carolyn is looking forward to working on education issues that arise in the legislature and collaborating with the many interested parties who impact this process. She will also be doing research on charter school financing and potential alternatives to the current system. |
