| Christina Hatzidakis is entering her second year at New England School of Law. Prior to law school, she served as an Americorps VISTA volunteer with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of St. Louis County, recruiting volunteers to advocate for abused children in court, fundraising on their behalf, and collaborating with schools, libraries and businesses to increase awareness of child abuse in the community. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2001 with a dual major in Women's Studies and Law & Society and a minor in Politics. Through an internship with the National Women's Law Center, she analyzed state policies regarding women's health, contributing to Making the Grade on Women's Health, the first publication to rate women's healthcare on a state-by-state basis. In addition to counseling sexual assault survivors at a local rape crisis center, she has worked as a Victim Advocate, providing diverse domestic violence victims with crisis intervention, safety planning and legal information. This summer, Christina will work with Northeastern University School of Law's Domestic Violence Institute to ensure the needs of domestic violence victims are met in the new Suffolk County Family Justice Center, a collaborative effort combining services to domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse victims. |
