Robin Ackerman is entering her final year at Northeastern University School of Law. Before starting law school, she earned masters degrees in environmental health and nursing through an occupational health fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health. In this program, she contributed to ongoing research concerning the human exposure characteristics of chemical phthalates, which are found in a variety of consumer products. She has also worked as a registered nurse in hospital, home care, and hospice settings. This summer she will work with Health Law Advocates (www.hla-inc.org) on projects relating to prison health and student health insurance. While at Health Law Advocates, Robin developed a legal strategy to challenge inadequate health services and inmate grievance procedures in county houses of correction.
