PJ McCann is entering his final year at Northeastern University School of Law. His policy focus is on affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization. In his first two co-op placements, PJ worked with Greater Boston Legal Services on legislation to preserve expiring use affordable housing and with Massachusetts Law Reform Institute on issues relating to tenant relocation, fair housing and tenant rights in foreclosure. At Northeastern, PJ has been active volunteering with Shelter Legal Services, Youth Advocacy Caucus and as Building Committee and At Large Representative on the Student Bar Association. PJ graduated from Harvard College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Honors Social Studies concentration and a Citation in Spanish. His honors thesis examined community involvement in economic development in Boston. This summer PJ will work with Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development and the Mayor’s interagency Foreclosure Intervention Team to facilitate ongoing efforts to acquire foreclosed properties in distressed neighborhoods and return them to productive use.
